My top three tips are:
1. Plan early. Whether it's that something special for dinner or that toy your child's been wanting, don't wait until the last minute.
2. Don't spend a lot of time with people that annoy you or your significant other. If your sweetie doesn't like your mom, visit her alone this year, or, if he must go with you, go out for lunch instead of hanging at her house all day. Be willing to share the holiday time with both of your families.
3. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc., usually want to help you with making your child's holiday special.
