I like what you said about "not one bad thing happened" and your question, here: "Are you willing to put your desire for feelings of well-being ahead of pleasing others and/or meeting some 'mark on a chart' around what you think you 'should' be doing?"
THAT's EXACTLY what I've been doing... trying to meet a 'mark on the chart' around some of my volunteering in my neighborhood at the Homeowner's Association.
I LIKE doing it, but with work and the kids, right now, it's too much. I think I'm going to do what you did---prioritize.
It helps to not think of it as permanent, but temporary...as something I will let go of, for now...
I do want to bring "My Best Self" to my family and my work (which is totally crazy right now...)
I might even beg-off (just for now) on the Book Club that starts up in a month. We'll see... Any way, thanks for the reminder - I HAD almost forgotten that I could choose!!
