I think we have been "conditioned" to go overboard at Christmas with all the "must do's" Baking, cooking, etc...when my children were small, I was the mom that "thought" I had to bake hundreds of Christmas cookies, make our own wrapping (by doing potato stamping with the kids), we made our own perfect gift tags for the gifts.....and every year I got more and more stressed with all the extra "stuff".....
I learned when my children were small, the most important thing is the time we give the people we love...
I made a decision to take 10 min and go to a local shop and buy the baking I wanted, to buy pre-made gift wrap and gift tags and get rid of all the time consumers I had put on my plate, and just chill out and enjoy the holidays.
Everything does NOT have to be home made! Wow, I still do this today, 20 years later, and it has made a huge difference!
Last night I went to a Christmas party...everyone brought an appetizer, we ordered Chinese food and there was no stress...just pure fun!
That's the way life should be! And, when all else fails, a couple of glasses of wine always helps:)
